Thread Vein Removal in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire

Dry Skin

THREAD VEINS or 'spider veins' are very common and are usually found on the chin, cheeks and nose.  They can be caused by wind, smoking, and some skin preparations however, they can appear spontaneously.

Short Wave Diathermy is a technique that has been developed in order to treat smaller red veins which other techniques cannot improve. It is therefore ideal for the treatment of: rosacea, thread veins and spider veins.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Short Wave Diathermy eliminates veins via a process known as thermo-coagulation. An ultra-fine insulated needle (similar to an acupuncture needle) deep heats the unwanted vessel, which causes the blood to coagulate and then be taken gradually removed by the body's immunity cells. The vessels gradually fade over 4 weeks, usually 1-4 treatment sessions are required for best results depending on individual requirements.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

This is a relatively painless procedure that can be applied to all areas of the body, including difficult to treat areas, such as the knee and ankle. No bandages are required, and the patient may resume everyday activity 15 minutes after their treatment session.

HOW SAFE IS TREATMENT?

Short Wave Diathermy is clinically proven, with minimal side effects. If the treated area is a little sore or dry for a few days, then the application of aloe vera gel may help.  Makeup may be worn to conceal any pinkness until fully settled.

A full assessment and consultation is required prior to any treatment.  Only qualified and fully trained staff may carry out treatment.
